Shirley Jackson-Jackson, PhD, OT/L, FAOTA, has demonstrated steadfast commitment to promoting academic excellence in teaching, research, and service to health science students and faculty since 1986. She focuses on diversity issues and health disparities in her research and teaching. Her activities center on mentoring health sciences and nursing faculty and occupational therapy students in becoming researchers in health disparities, and her goal is to develop a research culture at her college. In addition, she supervises fear of falling and fall risk assessments of community-dwelling older adults from underserved populations in the Washington, DC, area.
